MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR MEETING - AUGUST 7, 1996 PAGE 7 <br /> member of the School. Committee approximately 8-10 times <br /> throughout the year to discuss policies and decisions. <br /> . Educational Leadership - wil'1 attend a minimum of three <br /> curriculum workshops and work with the Mashpee staff and <br /> community in the revision of our Reading Program. <br /> To develop learning standards for grade 6. A grade level <br /> portfolio will be produced by all grade 6 students which <br /> will be agreed to by all staff, administration and school <br /> councils. These portfolios will be reviewed by all <br /> administrators prior to going home. <br /> . General Management - will deet on a monthly basis with <br /> representatives of the Department of Education and report <br /> back to the School Committee at their regular meetings, <br /> 4 . Personnel Management - will actively be ,involved in the <br /> staff evaluation program and the staff development program. <br /> The Superintendent will provide professional development to <br /> all administrators in the utilization of the new teacher <br /> evaluation instrument and in the goals of the teacher mentor <br /> program. Also, efforts will continue to -recruit qualified <br /> minority teachers. Ire-service training will be provided t <br /> all staff in various educational areas. <br /> 5. Communications/Public Relations ions - will devise a monthly <br /> newsletter to insure that staff, par-entsf students and the <br /> community are kept informed of the mission and accomplish- <br /> ments of the school system. These newsletters will be sent <br /> home to parents, distributed to 'down Officials, and <br /> forwarded to the Library and. Chamber of Conunerce, <br /> 6. Personal Qualities and Characteristics -- encourage en <br /> o <br /> munication with staff p <br /> members. The Superintendent will <br /> make daily visits to one or more of the schools. Also, <br /> office hours will be established for meeting parents and <br /> community members on a regular basis. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs- ' Cook, to approve <br /> the Superintendent's 1996-1997 goals. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 6. 10 Surplus of Audio-Visual Equipment - r.
