Paxton explained the concept of the "Mini Town Meeting" saying <br /> that the School Committee from rom tune, to time, will hold one of <br /> these meetingsto discuss pertinent .issues that require a longer <br /> discussion period than given at a <br /> regular School Committee meeting. <br /> Tonightfs topics are ""Progress Report, Grades 1-3" and "Homework. " <br /> Dr. De ours asked I r. Tippo, M.r. Feldman, and Mrs. Dol t explain <br /> p in <br /> the current report card layouts. Mrs Feldman outlined the report . <br /> card revision suggestions as recommended by the school council sub <br /> conunittee <br /> These changes included the following: <br /> Instead of utilizing 1, 2, 3 and 4 for grading students, <br /> it was suggested to use "0 = Outstanding, Consistently <br /> Excellent Work; E = Very Good Work; S = Satisfactory Work; <br /> and Needs Improvement. " <br /> The `current report card was condensed with lar qer areas for <br /> remarks <br /> to be rade by the teacher for the four terms. ! <br /> Discussion was raised on sub-sections of the report card with <br /> parental input, <br /> The second .issue discussed was the homework policy.
