MAS PEE PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br /> JOINT MEETING - SCHOOL COMMITTEE, BOARD of SELECTMEN AND <br /> FINANCE COMMITTEE <br /> January 29, 1997 <br /> Minutes. <br /> Attendees: <br /> School Committee; Chain Stephen Paxton, Kathli(��n Lynch, Theresa Cook, <br /> Janice Mills, and Maryanne Macdonald. Also in attendance was <br /> Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lincoln A. Delloura. <br /> Board of Selectmen: Chair George Costa, Kenneth 1larsters, Peter Dlnizio, <br /> Nancy Caffyn. Curtis Frye was absent this evening. Executive Secretary <br /> Robert Whritenour and Administrative Assistant to the Executive Secretary, <br /> Joyce Mason, also attended. <br /> Finance Committee: Chair Sidney Golub, Alec watt, hike Kumin, Daniel <br /> Goggin, Nancy Goulart. ' <br /> Selectman Chairman Costa called the joint 'meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. in the <br /> Carol Jacobson Senior Center. <br /> Mr. Costa introduced Mr. Whritenour who outlined the topics for this evening's <br /> discussion. These topics were: air duality at the Coombs School, costs <br /> incurred by the School Department for unforeseen expenses due to the delayed <br /> opening of Mashpee High School and "challenges" facing the. School <br /> Department in heir FY98 budget.. <br /> Mr. Whritenour then introduced Dr. DeMoura who presented ented ars article for the <br /> Special Town Meeting in May. This article dealt with asking the "Town to vote <br /> to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds $65,000 to reimburse <br /> the FY9 7 School budget for expenses related to the education of high school <br /> students." <br /> This article is necessary to reimburse the school department for unforeseen <br /> expenses associated with the high school building not being available in <br /> August, 1996. These monies will be recovered from the general contractor and <br /> e returned to the Town's general fund. <br /> 'i <br />
