Mashl ee school Committee - Special Meeting -- January 30, 1997 <br /> Page Three <br /> transportation, maintenance of building, special education <br /> teachers who spend classes in one school or the other. <br /> Dr. DeMoura then addressed the FY98 budget get line item by line <br /> item. Mrs. Mills suggested gaiting for the final list of additional <br /> teaching positions from the M.T% . <br /> Mrs. Lynch questioned full-tine salaried employees receiving extra <br /> pay during a year that has 52.2 creeks. She felt any employee who <br /> has a contract stating 52- eek pair period should not exceed 52 <br /> weeks. After much discussion on this topic, it was suggested, to <br /> obtain a legal opinion, lir. DeMoura will contact Attorney Butler. <br /> Discussion following on the position of a storekeeper which is <br /> someone who deal with issues of inventory, central supply set-up, <br /> monitoring supplies and equipment, etc. Mrs. Mills asked for a job <br /> description for a storekeeper. she also expressed that each school <br /> should be responsible for their own sullies. lir. DeMoura <br /> responded saying the supplies need to be listrihutel on an equal <br /> basis. Mrs. Mills reiterated that the Education Reform Act calls for <br /> school-based'r management and the schools should be responsible <br /> for their own supplies. <br /> Mrs. Mills then said the business manager and storekeeper <br /> positions should be deferred until the MTA requests are made. <br /> Discussion then focused on technology in the- schools. <br /> Adjournment: Motion made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mrs. <br /> Lynch, to a lj ourn the meeting at. :11 p.m <br /> NO'T'E; Unanimous <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> } <br /> Marjorie r .
