i <br /> Page 1 <br /> Mashpee School Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> May 1 , 1997 <br /> X 1. l 1.2.5 Safe Transportation Task Force: <br /> Committee <br /> Reports No report at this time. <br /> (continued) <br /> 11.2.6 Personnel Comrmttee: <br /> The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, May 29, 1997 at <br /> :00 p.m. It was noted that the Job Fair will be held on <br /> Saturday, May 17, 1997 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. <br /> 11.2.7 Booster's Club: <br /> Mrs.Lynch indicated that additional members are necessary to <br /> help raise funds for school sports. <br /> X11, Mike Pietrowski reported that due to a systems modulator <br /> Other failure, the meeting of the School Committee on this date, was <br /> not televised. This matter should be resolved with Continental <br /> Cable by Monday. <br /> In other business, Mr. Paxton indicated that it is important for <br /> the school system to evaluate test scores fairly, and in the correct <br /> manner. Mr. Paxton made note of a sixth grade high honor student <br /> from Mashpee who was not able to enroll in a private school a <br /> a result of poor test scores. <br /> In response,Dr. DeMoura stated that it is difficult to control how <br /> a teacher evaluates a test score. He requested that the matter <br /> relative to the sixth grade honor student be brought to his attention <br /> and placed in writing. <br /> Mrs. hills related concern with respect to food and drink items <br /> consumed during meetings of the School Committee. She <br /> suggested that meetings be held in the cafeteria. This matter will <br /> be discussed with the High School Principal. <br /> It was noted that an article appeared in the Cape Cod Times <br /> about Mashpee. <br /> Mrs. Lynch indi <br />
