Janice was absent this eveni <br /> MillsHng. Also in attendance <br /> was Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lincoln A. DeMoura. <br /> 1. Chairwoman Kathy Lynch called the regular meeting to order at :02 <br /> Call Meeting .m. in Room n --103 at Mashpee MashHigh School. <br /> To Order <br /> Mrs. Lynch asked the Committee for per ission to take ut oforder the <br /> following agenda items as discussed in order. <br /> 9.16 Stonehill Colle N ash ee High School Collaboration - ]fir. <br /> Moura introduced Reverend Bartley McPhaidin who addressed the <br /> Committee on a cooperative venture between l lash ec High School and <br /> Ston hill College. He said Mashpee would be a "perfect fit" for those who <br /> would lite to take advanced courses. A pilot program would commence <br /> in January, 1998 and involved one to two classes to start then the <br /> program would be assessed. He had hopes that the pilot program would <br /> result in an on-going program. <br /> Rev. McPhaidln introduced Paul Krueger, Director of Academic <br /> Computing at Stonehill College who discussed Binding a means to <br /> connect Mashpee and Stonehill. A microwave rave link would have to be set <br /> up between Mashpee Mashand Stonehill. He said the costs are expensive but <br /> "unique." Mr. Krueger said grants could be written to help defray costs <br /> by 3%-5% on a yearly basis to maintain the link that would alloy 8, 10, <br /> or 12 classes to run to Mashpee. <br /> Dr. DeMoura recommended supporting this collaboration effort between <br /> Mashl ee High School and Stonehill College. <br /> Mr. Paxton made a motion to support the Stonehill College Mashpee <br /> High School pilot program. His motion was seconded by Ms, Macdonald. <br />
