Facilities Report - Dr. DeMoura said that School Facilities <br /> Supervisor Don cooly was on vacation but included a "Maintenance <br /> Status Report for each school. Mr-s. Lynch questioned the wires on the <br /> floors in the Quashnet Schools this week. Dr. DeMoura ra said the intercom <br /> system is being installed at the Quashnet River School. Mr. Pietro rski <br /> explained there are two separate systems and it is less expensive to pull <br /> out the calling to separate the two. <br /> Mrs. Lynch questioned the status of the Quashnet Schools' playground. <br /> She questioned if the DPW was clearing out the land. Dr-. DeMoura will <br /> discuss with Mr. Tippo and report Haack to the Committee at the next <br /> meeting. <br /> 7. FY98 Budget -- Dr. DeMoura began the discussion by asking for <br /> questions. Mr. Paxton asked why the Professional Development line <br /> item shows a 243% expenditure? Dr. DeMoura will check on this. <br /> Mr-s. Lynch noted that there will be 13 buses this year as opposed to 1 <br /> last year, thus saving $30,000. <br /> At the next meeting, Mrs. Lynch asked to discuss purchasing procedures <br /> as outlined in the policy manual. <br /> 7.9 Board of Education Action - dune 18th - For informational <br /> purposes, Dr. DeMoura included this handout which discussed the <br /> following: <br /> I History and Social Science Curriculum Framework Adopted <br /> 2. Regulations on Under-Performing Schools and School <br /> Districts Adopted <br /> 3. Regulation on certificate Revocation Amended <br /> . First Step 'Taken to Declare Lawrence Public Schools <br /> Chronically Under performing <br /> Mrs. Lynch expressed concem over not reprising the history curriculum <br /> and not teaching students what they will he tested on. Dr. DeMoura said <br /> the curriculums are in alignment with the frameworks. <br /> 5. Student Board Member <br />
