Dr. <br /> DeMoura recommended approval. Discussion followed on her pay, <br /> sick days, and dates of request. There was no notion, <br /> 7.2 Food Service Update - r. DeMoura informed the Committee <br /> that the program suffered a $3,161.64 loss in September. He then <br /> went on to describe a new for which shows a breakdown of <br /> cafeteria costs ("School munch reconciliation Forn "). For every " <br /> type lunch that costs $1.3o, the state reimburses the school <br /> department $.24; reduced lunch, $.40, $1.31 is reimbursed; free <br /> lunch, o, $1.71 is reimbursed; "A" breakfast that costs $.65, $.2o <br /> is reimbursed; reduced breakfast, $.30/$.745 is reimbursed; and <br /> for every free breakfast, the state reimburses $1.045. <br /> Also in attendance at the meeting was Canteen's registered <br /> dietician Missy:Holt who addressed the Committee on nutritional <br /> facts for students. She said that 50 years ago, the government was <br /> concerned that students did not receive enough food to eat but the <br /> government's concern noir is that students eat too much food that <br /> contains too few nutrients. <br /> Student Advisory Council President Chris Maguire asked why is <br /> there a charge now of $.60 for soup where in past years, soup was <br /> included in the dairy menu: Mrs. Women answered that soup has <br /> arrays been an a la carte item. After further discussion on <br /> including soup in the price, Mrs. Warren agreed to include soul a <br /> part of the lunch menu at no extra charge. <br /> Mrs. Warren stressed that Canteen employees meet or exceed the <br /> federal guidelines on food portions for students. <br />
