MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE — REGULAR MEETING — DECEMBER 3, 1997 PAGE 8 <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Ms. Macdonald, to <br /> increase the guidance counselor's time at the Quashnet River <br /> School to that at the Coombs and Quashnet Valley Schools but not <br /> to exceed the budgeted amount. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Mrs. Lynch asked in the Cape Cod Collaborative's substitute call-in <br /> service will be in effect next year? Ms. Macdonald will ask at the <br /> Collaborative's meeting on December 4th. <br /> 7.6 Meeting Dates <br /> 7.6.1 Jan Williams — Strategic Plan — Dr. DeMoura reiterated <br /> the need for the School Committee to set short- and long-term <br /> goals for the school department. Mrs. Mills stated that she is <br /> opposed to meeting with Ms. Williams until the Committee meets <br /> with the Town Planner. <br /> 7.6.2 Tom Fudala — School Facilities Master Plan — The <br /> Committee tentatively scheduled Tuesday, January 20, 1998 at <br /> 7:00 p.m. to meet with Town Planner Tom Fudala. Dr. DeMoura <br /> will follow up. <br /> 7.7 October and November Suspensions — During October, 21 <br /> high school students committed disciplinary infractions that <br /> resulted in out-of-school suspensions. There were three Saturday <br /> School Office Detentions sessions held with 54 students scheduled <br /> to attend. During November, 13 students committed disciplinary <br /> infractions that resulted in out-of-school suspensions. Four <br /> Saturday School Office Detentions sessions were held with 67 <br /> students scheduled to attend. <br /> 7.8 Richard Milburn High School — Included as informational <br /> was the "Prospectus for an Upper Cape Regional Alternative High <br /> School" that has been submitted to the Department of Education. <br /> 7.9 Commonwealth and Horace Mann Charter Schools — Also <br /> included as informational only was a summary of Commonwealth <br /> and Horace Mann Charter Applications. <br />
