In FY , grade 1 is projected to have <br /> 194 students with nine teachers; in grade 2, 194 students with <br /> eight teachers; and in grade 5, 198 students with 8 teachers. She <br /> expressed concern with class sizes of 24-25 in grades 2 and 5. She <br /> asked to have this issue placed on the budget meeting agenda. Dr. <br /> I eMoura agreed stating that the committee should decide on ghat <br /> class size shoed be implemented. <br /> 8.2 Quashnet Valla School�Guidance counselor -+ Mrs. dills <br /> said she was under the impression that this position was made a <br /> full-time position during previous discussions. It was explained <br /> that the Quashnet River School Guidance counselor was made t <br /> full-time position. Dr. DeMoura said about $6,700 is needed to <br /> increase the Quashnet Malley Guidance Counselor position for the y. <br /> remainder of FY 8. <br /> Motion rade by Mrs. cook, seconded by Mrs. Mills, to increase the <br /> Quashnet Valley School Guidance counselor position to full-time <br /> (from .7currently) effective Monday, February 9, 1998. <br /> VOTE: ni u s <br /> 8.8 Van Drivers' Pa Increase - Pursuant to the Committee's <br /> request, Dr. DeMoura provided a memo listing area school districts <br /> regular and substitute drivers' pay nates. He proposed increasing <br /> the regular drivers' pair to $10.00 per h ur, Discussion followed <br /> with Mrs. Lynch noting that the drivers received a 3.5% pair <br /> increase at the beginning ofthe fiscal year.
