Dr. DeMoura recommended approval. <br /> 7.1.3 Special Education Teaching Assistant 15 hrs./wk.,,, , QV <br /> School - Dr. DeMoura said in order to accommodate newly <br /> identified student needs and I Ps a part-time assistant is required. <br /> He recommended approval. <br /> Discussion followed on where the additional funds would he taken <br /> from. Dr. DeMoura thought approximately $12,000 would be <br /> needed to accommodate the above requests. Although 93% of the <br /> special education budget has been expended thus far, Mrs. Cook <br /> suggested exhausting all funds from that account first then plan . <br /> y ear" for any additional required funding. f- <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Ms. Macdonald to <br /> approve hiring the above--mentioned part-bine teaching assistants. <br /> Unanimous <br /> 7.2 Food Service Update - Dr. DeMoura reported that <br /> December's profit was $9.23. He explained the "school Lunch <br /> Reconciliation Form" noting that total sales were $40,143.'77; <br /> inventory, $6,843.80; program costs, $40,134.54; commodities, <br /> $271.'75; meal tax, $71.91; there were no maintenance costs <br /> during December; program balance, $86,742.31 which includes <br /> the inventory. <br /> 7.5 S inn of Charter Pu ils and Tuition F Y9 - Dr. <br /> DeMoura explained a chart that shows M shpee's payment is <br /> $5,'7'76 for a Mashpee student attending a charter school in Mull as <br /> of December 1997. Also, a tuition cost of $3,281 is sho m for a <br /> Mashpee student attending a school choice facility in Wareham. <br /> P g � � <br /> He noted that the preliminary FY98 Charter School Tuition Rate <br /> average cost per pupil for Mas pee is $5,451. <br /> 7. school Calendars:- 1998-1999 and 1999-2000 - 'These <br /> calendars were provided as inf r aboral ate 'al for the time <br /> being. Noting a couple of minor changes, the 1998-1999 school <br /> calendar will he noted upon at the March meeting. Iashpee will <br /> coordinate their calendar With Falmouth high school's prior to the <br /> meeting. The 1998-1999 calendar will be voted on in March. <br />
