MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 10, 1998 Minute I Attendees: Chairwoman 'Theresa Cook, Stephen Paxton, Maryanne Macdonald, Kathleen Lynch, and Janice Mills. Also in attendance was Su erintende t of Schools Dr. Lincoln A. DeMoura. 11 CaU Meeting The regular meeting was called to order by Mrs. Cook at 6:33 to Order p.m. in high school room X3103. The meeting convened at an earlier time due to the presentation of James Hardy, Field Services Representative for M.A.S.C. Massachusetts Association of School Committees). Mr. Hardy discussed the process by which the new superintendent would be selected, i.e., determine search calendar, qualifications and schedule. Mr. Hardy will schedule community focus groups throughout tern. Faculty focus group meetings will be set for September 9, 10 and 11. Advertising will be in the Sundgy Boston_Globe, September er 2 and in Education week on September 23. Notion made by Mrs. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Paxton, to change the original M.A.S.C. schedule date of September 4, 1998 to September 9, 10, and 11 to conduct focus group meetings with the faculty; change September 9 to September 15 where the School Committee approves the selection criteria, information brochure and advertising; December 21 to December 17 or 21, 1395. TE: Unanimous Mr. Hardy will meet with the administrators on September 2, 1998 at 1:00 p.m. in high school conference room B103. i Thereill be two parent meetings - one during the day; the ober, at night. Mr. Hardy will also schedule meetings with the Chamber of Commerce, 'Torn Department Heads through the Executive Secretary, clergy, senior citizens, Council on Aging.
