Mashpee'- Wakeby Lake Management
Committee
April 26, 2018
7:30 PM
Mashpee Town Hall
Meeting eal.led by Debi McManus
Type of meetmg:;.. Monthly
Secretary Barbara B. Nichols
Attendees: Members: Brian Mauro, Barbara Nichols
Guests:
The minutes of the March 22, 2018 meeting were accepted as written after a motion by Brian Mauro and
second by Barbara Nichols
Agenda topics
[Agenda typic 11 Lake level River outflow`.
Discussion: Barbara Nichols did the lake measurements on April Is' and 15t".The levels were 55.9 and
55.8 ft. above sea level with 22 and 19 inches of water flowing over the board closest to the lake.
There were 12 inches of water in the stream by the stairs both times. The water has not been this high
since July 2013 and erosion is occurring along the shoreline. Herring have been seen as far rip as the run
at Rt. 130. We are still receiving storms with large amounts of rain which is keeping the levels high.
Because of the high water, there are several dock pieces pushed up along the shore between the fish
way and Attaquin Beach. Debi also has a small dingy washed up near her shore. The Harbormaster will
need to remove the debris before the boating season gets busy.
Conclusions: The water level at 55.9 Ft. above sea level is the highest it has been since July 2013.
[Agenda topic 2] Spring;Newsletter
Discussion: Barbara presented the newsletter as she has completed it so far. With the harborirnaster's
report, and paddleboard article, there still remains one page to fill. Suggestions were to see if Diane Lang
had an article about Lowell Holly, or repeat one on boating safety.
Conclusions: Barbara will contact Diane Lang for news of Lowell Holly Reservation.
