� r <br /> i <br /> MASH EE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR MEETING - NOVEMBER 2 1995 PAGE 2 <br /> .2 FY99 Required Plannina_and Spender for Professional - <br /> Mrs. Cook said this was correspondence from Commissioner of <br /> Education David Driscoll requiring districts to spend $100 per <br /> pupil from state aid funds on professional development for FY99. <br /> Mrs. cook asked the Committee if Mrs. Blackwood could present <br /> her art project at the Quashnet River School. The Committee <br /> agreed. <br /> Joy Blackwood, a teacher at the Quashnet Kiger School, presented <br /> a Grade 6 painting project which would consist of the United <br /> States. It would measure 16'x27' to be painted by 48 Grade <br /> students. Cost would be between $200-$300 including paint. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Paxton, to accept the <br /> project as presented. <br /> Mrs. Lynch asked which function would the funds be taken from: <br /> It was decided they would be taken from lire item 1202 - QR <br /> Social Science Supplies. <br /> Mrs. Mills amended her above motion to 'include funds would be <br /> taken from lire item 1202 - QR Social Science Supplies. This <br /> motion was seconded by Mr. Paxton. <br /> NOTE: Unanimous <br /> i <br /> STI. Student Ad- Chris Maguire was not present at tonight's meeting due to the date <br /> vi ory Council charge from the regular meeting right. <br /> DTII. Report of theMrs. cook introduced Interim Superintendent Willliam MacDonald <br /> Superintendent who read ars opening statement which included his belief in <br /> supporting the protocol chain of command when parents have ars <br /> issue to discuss, i.e., 1 the teacher should be the first point of <br /> contact; 2 the principal of therespective school would be next in <br /> lire if the teacher was -unable to rectify the situation; 3 the <br /> Superintendent would thea fall third; the School Committee <br /> would be last resort when a parent has a problem/situation with <br /> their- children). <br /> Mr. MacDonald then updated the Committee on the following <br /> personnel issues: <br /> Appointments: <br /> System-wide: l Mary os Grady - Hcalth Grant Coordinator <br />
