He will be coming the end of next weep to look around and <br /> sit down to talk over the particulars . He hopes to be on board at the <br /> end of March. <br /> Selectman Canter reported .that he has drafted a letter to Commissioner <br /> utensohn saying that we have received the $88, 000 and we' would be <br /> interested in receiving the necessary forms needed for the next round <br /> of funding to finish the dredging of Popponeset Bay. <br /> 4) Selectman Carter stated he has met with the Chairman of the School <br /> Committee and the Superintendent and feels it would be wise to meet <br /> with the school_ 'committee. <br /> 5 ) Selectmen met with members of the Arts Council relative to a memo <br /> from the Town Accountant who raises an issue of the Arts Council <br /> traveling out of state . She asked if the Arts Council has received <br /> approval_ of tl�e Board of Selectmen. <br /> After further discussion, Selectman Gottlieb moved to allow the Arts <br /> Council to engage in out of- state travel. . Selectman Carter seconded <br /> the Motion. Vote was unanimous . <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1 Selectmen were asked to approve deficit spending of $20, 000 for the <br /> removal of snow and ice . <br /> Selectman Lawrence. moved to approve deficit spending of $20, 000 for <br /> the removal of snow and ice. Selectman Gottlieb seconded the notion. <br /> All were in favor . <br /> 2 Selectman Carter moved to appoint Susan Lochiat o as part-time program <br /> assistant . Selectman Gottlieb seconded the motion. Selectman Thomas <br /> was also infavor. Selectman Lawrence was opposed. <br /> 3) Selectman Carter moved to appoint Francis Dolan to serve on the Senior <br /> Center Building Needs Study Committee . Selectman Gottlieb seconded the <br /> motion. All were in favor . <br /> Selectmen reviewed a proposal which would consolidate the Harbormaster <br /> and Shellfish Departments . <br /> Selectman Carter stated he approved of the idea but would like to hear <br /> i from Mr . Koblinsky and Mr . Ryan, <br /> i <br /> i <br /> i Selectman Lawrence stated he had reservation about the idea . <br /> Selectmen agreed to put this on the agenda for next week for further <br /> discussion. <br />
