Gottlieb replied by stating that everyone present had the sante <br /> interest which is to make Atta juin Park a usable, pleasant safe <br /> place to be for all residents . <br /> The Atta juin Park Committee had set up,a system this year that they <br /> felt would work. k�k�a .T ��t~li-el also stated -th t by working with. <br /> neighbors and theT'ribal� .ui i -iTl�t-h } ,r' bl'ems could be solved by <br /> the Town without looking to the State, <br /> Mr, Po c n t t questioned a, remark that he 'felt was inflammatory <br /> and derogatory to the Wom anoags . The remark appeared in the <br /> newspaper and quoted Wendy -Rubin as stating that the Park was <br /> predominantly used by the Wompanoag Indians . He felt that her <br /> 4 <br /> statement should be clar.if i-ed. <br /> Cynthia Mills , a lifeguard at Attauin Park stated that she <br /> had experienced no problems at the Beach, <br /> Mrs . Judy Mills stated that she felt it unfair that people had not <br /> been informed of job termination and had read about it in the <br /> newspaper. Mr. Lawrence advised Mrs , Mills that there could be no <br /> discussion of personnel issues , <br /> Joan Tavares , representing the Tribal Council made the following <br /> recommendations; <br /> 1 . No one shall be allowed into the Park without a Mashpee Beach <br /> s t i kek or Tribal Council ,T..D. <br /> ;��- o'-dru- s- -o-r -alcohol t be all _ r d--ori `the beach. <br /> Theres-h-aly- Abe , an--8-:'0-0--p:-m-.-- cu-r f, w-vno" r - <br /> 4 . Young children should not be at the beach without an adult . <br /> . Lifeguard on -duty should be provided with a two-way radio <br /> in case of emer en _ <br /> ;* Mr. .,cart er moved to appoint a committee to be made up of various <br /> ..hotheowner associations , town officials t DPW,, Parks & Recreation Dept , , <br /> and Police Department 'with no more than nine and no less than <br /> members to meet as soon as possible (Thursday, July 20 , 1988 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> to address the issues at Attaquin Park. Ir. Gottlieb seconded the <br /> motion and indicated his interest In serving on the committee to <br /> represent the Board of Selectmen. Mrs . Jacobson also indicated her <br /> interest in serving on the committee. All were in favor. <br /> Mr. Carter moved that the, Board instruct Ernie Virgilio to work <br /> with the Police I epartment"to place boulders Or other barricades <br /> to block access to the Park (with the exception of the main entrance) . <br /> Mrs . Jacobson seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br />
