} <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES - REGULAR SESSION <br /> MONDAY, JULY 2 , 1988 <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> . a. Mr. Gottlieb roved to advise Commonwealth Electric that <br /> the Board of Selectmen will grant an easement to install <br /> and maintain the necessary electric lines to serve the new <br /> Mashpee Elementary School off Old Barnstable Road, <br /> Mrs . Jacobson seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br /> b. Mr. Gottlieb moved that an article be inserted on the <br /> November Special Town Meeting warrant to see if the Town <br /> will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to .grant an <br /> easement - to Commonwealth Electric Company to install and <br /> maintain the necessary electric lines to serve the new Mashpee <br /> Elementary School off Old. Barnstable Road, Mr. Danson seconded <br /> the -motion. l were in favor. <br /> 4 , Mr. Gottlieb' and Mrs . Jacobson discussed the At tacuin Park Committee <br /> meeting held on July 21, 1988 at which 24 people attended. <br /> Recommendations resulting from that meeting were discussed. <br /> representative from the Flume Restaurant asked how the No <br /> Parking issue would affect parking at the Restaurant during peak <br /> hours . It was agreed that Board members would to to the area <br /> on a Saturday evening to distinguish where the no parking area <br /> would begin. <br /> There was discussion relating to life guards currently stationed <br /> at beaches other than Attaquin Park and the fact that they will <br /> not agree to work at Atta uin Park unless there are two lifeguards <br /> at the beach and they would like to have an, adult as a gate attendant <br /> as opposed to - a teenager. Ms, Rubin stated that since the <br /> employees had agreed to working in a specific area, they should not <br /> be expected to change/move at this point. <br /> The Board voted unanimously to accept the following recommendations; <br /> 1 ) Instruct Ernie Virgilio to block off various entrances to the <br /> park with boulders <br /> ) order a metal gate for the Lake Avenue entrance <br /> Construct a cul-de-sac in front of the gate on Lake Avenue <br /> 4 Initiate action to male Lake Avenue, Atta juin Park parking lot <br /> and State ramp a tow zone <br /> Place speed bumps along Dake Avenue <br /> Institute a 9 : 00 p.m, curfew at the beach <br /> Appointment of an Attac uin Park Committee, names of interested <br /> parties will given to the Board <br /> Clear brush on the so-called twelve acres area <br /> 9 Increase lighting in .bead parking lot and Labe Avenue <br /> • r <br />
