Murphy <br /> GUESTS: Paul Somerville, Sgt, William Eth i r, Wendy Rubin, Ernie <br /> v i r i l e o, Leslie-Ann More, Kafir Perry <br /> The Meeting convened at 3 : 00 * <br /> MINUTES <br /> Mr. Gottlieb moved -to accept the Regular and Executive Session <br /> minutes of August 1 , 1988 with one amendment. Page 5, item # <br /> should read AshumetJohn' Pored Association . Mrs . Jacobson seconded <br /> tie motion. All wei-6 in favor. Mr . Carter was not present for the <br /> vote. <br /> AP O I ` MEENTS & HEARINGS <br /> I . Mr . Somerville attended to recommend to the Board that the <br /> Popponesset Spit be reopened for soft-shell clamming by <br /> family permit holders only. Mr. Somerville explained that <br /> his surveys indicate that some of the seed has doubled in <br /> size. <br /> Mr , Hanson moved to accept Mr . Bo ery i 1 1 e' s re ommendation <br /> to reopen the Popponesset Spit for soft-shell clamming by <br /> family permit holders on Sunday, September 4, 1988. Mr. <br /> Gottlieb seconded the motion . All were in favor. Mr. <br /> Carter was not present for the vote, <br /> 2 . Mrs . Nancy McDermott, President of Banton Pond Estates <br /> Association attended to present petitions for the Town to <br /> accept the roadways in the subdivision. Mr. Murphy advised <br /> the Board that the next step in this process is for -the <br /> petitions to he certified by the Assessor ' s office, then to <br /> seek engineering services -to determine what the cost will be <br /> to the Town to take the roads . once the estimated cost has <br /> been obtained, the Selectman will hold a public hearing to <br /> which the residents in the area will be invited to be <br /> informed of the cost. There is then another petition <br /> process where residents agree that they do want the Town to <br /> tale the particular roads over. [upon completion of the <br /> second petition, this would be placed on the Annual Town <br /> Meeting Warrant. Mr. Murphy agreed to work with <br /> . McDermott on the preparation of the second petition, <br /> 3 <br /> Sgt. Willia Ethier attended in reference to the proposed <br /> addition to the Police Station * Mr. Hanson agreed that the <br /> space needs are realistic, but feels it is necessary to know <br /> There the $ 1 , 2 million is going to be spent.
