15 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 18, 2018 <br /> Acceptance of Resignation from the Cultural Council; Dawn Thayer.:. <br /> Dawn Thayer submitted a letter of resignation dated June 4, 2018 from the Mashpee Cultural Council <br /> effective the last day of her term on June 15, 2018. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to accept the resignation of Dawn Thayer from the Cultural <br /> Council with regret. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Opposed, none <br /> LIAISON REPORTS <br /> Conservation: At a recent Conservation Commission meeting, there was discussion regarding the <br /> enforcement of permits. It was agreed if enforcement boards are not fully enforcing their rules, Town <br /> Counsel should be consulted, In terms of legality and adherence thereof, the Town Manager would <br /> emphasize full enforcement when required. <br /> Council on Aging,: The recent breakfast held at the Mashpee Library was well attended. <br /> Schools: At the Mashpee Picnic, the School Essay Challenge will be launched. The 500 word challenge <br /> about the importance of Mashpee Public Schools is open to all Mashpee students. The Mashpee School <br /> Department will monitor the challenge which is privately funded. <br /> School Signage/Route 151: With recommendations from the new Town. Planner, a draft concept of the <br /> Route 151 sign has been rendered with favorable reviews. Additional comments on the signage may be <br /> forwarded to the Town Manager or Superintendent of Schools. <br /> Chamber of Commerce: Tree replacement at the Mashpee Rotary was discussed at the last Chamber of <br /> Commerce meeting. It was disclosed a private donor combined with input from the Mashpee Chamber <br /> will be funding the installation of (2) 20' trees. The planting will co-inside with the anniversary of a <br /> tragic event affecting a Mashpee Gold Star Family. The Town of Mashpee is currently seeking an <br /> insurance settlement to fund the installation of a P tree to further beautify this area impacted severely by <br /> winter storms. <br />
