Selectman Ilarsters: Well, we've got down to the issue of sovereign nation.
Selectman Reveille: The sovereign nation is the issue, but anyway like I said, I think we
should be talking with them at some point, in preparation for either
event, either for the public comment period or it the petition fails
in going forward with the legislative route if that is what comes
about...but I for one ani all for all of the benefits. I am all for,
l00% for the benefits, 100% for social and cultural, but I just can't
acknowledge the sovereign nation request because of serious
implications unposed.
Selectman 1larsters: So, do you want to take a vote?
Selectman Reveille: I will, I don't know if anybody else is. I dont know.
Selectman Taylor. I have those questions. I going on knowledge that I currently have,
I am not going on what the lawyer is telling me. I am very
concerned about that because if what I truly believe is the truth,
thea if we set up a meeting with Hale and Torr in to weeks, it's
not going to make that much difference, but I think if we bring
them down., we can at least have answered the questions to
everybody's satisfaction, then you can make an informed vote.
That is my only thing. I mean..
Selectman 1 larsters: We should actually try to keep Hale and Torr out of this thing
because we thought that it upset the Tribal Council..
Selectman Taylor: I understand that the Tribal Council...
Selectman Green: They didn't because they've been in the paper every time we hav
tried to make a move....
Selectman Cahalane: We are not talking about the Tribal Council, were taping about the
education.
Selectman Marsters: No, no,Hale and Torr...
Selectman Green: We haven't kept them out of it. It's been fairly advertised when
ever they have been involved. S , if we are saying that we tried t
keep them out of it as not to upset the Tribal Council, that is wrong
because we came here and react a letter from Hale and torr that
was a confidential letter that we nearer voted on as a board.
Selectman Marster : I try the word limited then, and change my choice of words.
