MA 02649 <br /> 539-1418 <br /> 3.991 .-ANNUAL REP RT <br /> ARD : LTH <br /> To the citizens of the Town of Mashpee; <br /> We, the Board of Health, respectfully submit our annual <br /> report for the calendar year 1991. <br /> During 1991, the Town generated 5,720 tons of trash. <br /> This is a reduction of 595 tons over 1990! Congratulations <br /> to all our recyclers. During 1991 we recycled the following: <br /> 4 <br /> 164 tons of newspapers. <br /> 26 tons of clear glass; <br /> 13 tons of colored glass; <br /> 1 ton of plastics <br /> 1.54 toms of white goods (refrigerators, stoves, etc. ) ; <br /> 1935 mals, of waste oil approx. 10 tons) : <br /> 1408 tires approx. 14 tons) . <br /> The cost of the recycling operation, including the mon- <br /> itoring, was $14, 352, As the market conditions improve, our <br /> costs will decrease accordingly, The Upper Cape Regional <br /> Transfer~ Station Board of Managers, of which our Agent. is a <br /> member, is currently studying the feasibility of creating a► <br /> region.al recycling center adjacent to the Otis transfer sta- <br /> tion for the upper Cape towns currently using the station <br /> with the possible addition of the Town of Bourne. The mili- <br /> tary is very satisfied with the transfer station operation <br /> and has indicated enthusiasm toward the recycling center. <br /> Revenues generated by the Board of Health include <br /> Perc tests & ektension $ 6375 <br /> New and repair septic_ permits 8515 <br /> Well permits 2775 <br /> . Septic installers licenses 9400 <br /> Septge pumpers licenses 2800 <br /> eptage pumping tickets 11600 <br /> 'gash haulers licenses 5500 <br /> Residential stickers 320 <br /> Commercial stickers 4625 <br /> Trailer parrs -taxes $1953.0 <br /> Inns/motels licenses 600 <br /> Pool permits 2500 <br />
