MINUTES August 29 , 1991 6 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Landfill expenses - Mr, McQuaid stated a meeting was held at <br /> the landfill on Saturday at which time- discussion took place <br /> regarding the contractor's additional expenses. IfIt was <br /> agreed Mr. DiMaggio would be paid an additional $280.00 per <br /> day. $200.00 for equipment and fuel and $80.00 for additional <br /> manpower from the Tuesday after the hurricane until the ' time <br /> when we will no longer accept brush. "This matter .was dis- <br /> cussed with the Executive Secretary and Town Accountant who <br /> were agreeable to the charges. "We also discussed additional <br /> payment to Mr. DiMaggio for his payroll onThursday, " "It <br /> was agreed $600.00 would cover payroll. " Nor. McQuaid stated <br /> funds will be allocated thru the "Hurricane Bob" account. <br /> Brush burning - Mr. , Costa expressed his concern with the <br /> landfill accepting stumps as they are being accepted free of <br /> charge and may tempt commercial companies to transport debris <br /> from out of town to our landfill and commented that stumps <br /> take an inordinate period of time '.n which to burn. <br /> Mr, Greelish stated the stumps -are storm debris and <br /> should be accepted. <br /> Board members directed Mr, McQuaid to consult 'with the <br /> Contractor as to whether excessive amounts of stumps are be- <br /> ing brought to the landfill, should the contractor report an <br /> increase from last weep they will no longer be accepted. <br /> Hurricane expenses - Mr. McQuaid informed the Board as a re- <br /> sult of the storm approximately $98,100,00 will be required <br /> to compensate the landfill contractor, as well as, costs for <br /> chipping and hauling.
