MINUTES January 25, 2001 2 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Mr. Santos further indicated that he would life the Board of Health and the <br /> Board of Selectmen to meet to discuss the transfer station issues. <br /> Mr. Ball suggested that the Board of Health should continue to be responsible <br /> for the landfill capping/closure issues. <br /> Board members agreed to direct IVIS. Warden to send a memo to Mr. Whritenour <br /> stating that the Board of Health anticipates the Board of Selectmen gill have <br /> total control of the transfer station arra recycling center as of July 1, 2001 and, <br /> in order to ensure a smooth transition for the operational and daily <br /> responsibilities, a meeting should be scheduled between the two Boards at a <br /> mutually convenient time. <br /> . Letter from BCHBD re: Pave Paws <br /> Board acknowledged. <br /> . Devised plans - 67 Industrial Drive <br /> Plans were submitted for a commercial system at 67 Industrial Drive. <br /> Mr. Doherty motioned to.approve the plans pending receipt of revised plans <br /> showing that the reserve is to be installed at tie time of the primary system and <br /> that the distribution box needs a bull run valve shown on the plan. Mr. Santos <br /> seconded the motion. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> a., JanuaKy 22} 2001 Food Serve Class <br /> Is. warden informed Board members that the Food Serve class held at <br /> Ma hpee Town Hall on Monday, January 22, 2001 was a disappointment in <br /> that ESI, the company conducting the class, only gage an overview f the food <br /> code and teen administered the test. Future classes to be held will be <br /> conducted by the Extension Service and will take place over 3 days in order- to <br /> corer the food code in greater depth. . <br /> b. Score Card for restaurants <br /> Mr. Doherty proposed that the Board consider using a grading system for food <br /> service establishments in order to better inform the public of a restaurant's <br /> track record. Discussion tools place regarding this proposal with no decision <br /> being made at this time. <br /> C. Food Code Violation <br /> Ms. warden informed Board members of numerous Health and Food code <br /> violations at Zachary's Pub and the Riverbend Motel. <br /> Mr. Ball recommended that IVIS. warden have someone from the Barnstable <br /> County Department of Health and the nvironm. nt conduct another inspection <br /> and that they address the issues one at a time starting with the Food Code <br /> violations. <br /> h <br />
