MINUTES January 9, 1997 5 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "Quotes were opened and read on December 27, 1996 at <br /> 2:30 p.m.." "There were two quotes submitted, the first quote was from S. Joseph <br /> DiMaggio in the amount of$9,935.00, the second was from ABCO Cesspool Service in <br /> the amount of$34,900.00." "I spoke to the chairman today only on this particular agenda <br /> item." "I informed him we would like to get going on the work before the ground <br /> freezes." "The Chairman, Robert F. Cram, Sr., voted to accept the quote from S. Joseph <br /> DiMaggi ." <br /> 1V4r. Ball stated, "There is a $24,000.00 difference in quotes." "I agree to accept <br /> the quote from S. Joseph iMaggi ." <br /> 19.) rner � Failure Certification, 60 Riverside Road - Mr. Evans relayed, I <br /> inspected the site and found the cesspool had been overflowing." "The system was <br /> pumped. <br /> Board members forwarded their signatures to the "Emergency Repair <br /> Certification's form. <br /> 2 . variance request, 762 C tuft Road - Mr. McQuaid stated, "This is a system that <br /> was inspected for a transfer of property." "The only reason it failed was because the well <br /> was within ' f the cesspool." "1r. Evans and I agreed an engineered plan would be <br /> required." "The engineer was able to obtain 110' from the well however, only ' could <br /> be obtained from the sideline." `The repair has been completed." <br /> Mr. Doherty motioned to grant a ' local variance from theon-site leaching <br /> facility to the on-site well and a ' sideline variance, Mr. Ball seconded. <br /> 1. Subdivision plan, " sheet Woods" - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "This is a proposed <br /> subdivision with 28 residential lots." "Our standard procedure is to get a well and septic <br /> layouts with leaching facilities located. in front for maintenance purposes and m.d.c. <br /> drains." "Now with the new water District's potential limit we will have to have the <br /> proponent apply to the water District to determine whether or not they can connect,this <br /> entire development to town water." " o we now make the developer install water mains, <br /> do w <br /> stipulate a deed restriction that when water becomes available the owners if not the <br /> developer tie in." <br /> Mr. Doherty motioned to. require the developer to install water mains within the <br /> proposed subdivision and to make application to the water district for each lot, should the <br /> developer be unable to tie into public water right away a plan delineating well arra septic <br /> layouts shall be submitted to the Board for their approval, Mr. Ball seconded. <br />
