MENUTES May 2, 1996 5 BOARD OF BEALTH <br /> i <br /> Mr. Sanacki coaented, "The existing system has a pit lower than the <br /> groundwater." "`The new system will be 5.2' above groundwater." <br /> Mr. Doherty stated, "I think the opinion o f the Bo and members is that an owner <br /> occupied home is usually much better taken caro of then a home that is rented or a home <br /> that is occupied." "*`Although it is not the ideal solution it is an improvement and therefore <br /> 1 think the Board would be sympathetic and would reconsider its decision and allow the <br /> system to be upgraded as submitted. ' <br /> Mr. Cram motioned to reconsider the Boards' decision of April 25, 1996, Mr. Bah <br /> seconded, all agreed. <br /> Mr. Cram motioned to approve proposed plans for 33 Gia Lane as submitted by <br /> 1 . David Sanieki, P.E., Mr. Ball seconded, all agreed. <br /> APPOINTNENT: Ed Pe ce gar n r- 175 Surf Drive <br /> IIS-. Edward Pesce and Mr. Joe Gardner were in attendance for this scheduled <br /> appointment. <br /> I Ir. Pesce stated, `"We are providing a septic tank with a nitrogen removal system <br /> known as the Ecofin bio-elere out to a leaching pit." "The Board's concern was the close <br /> proximity to a private well and the close proximity to the wetlands area." <br /> 4 <br /> Il i. <br /> Doherty relayed, "Subsequent to this Board's decision we have amended our <br /> regulations which provide an automatic 75 linear foot separation if a denitrification system <br /> is installed.' "This Board would look favorably upon the installation of a u-v. unit also. <br /> I&. McQuaid commented, "There is a 64.8' separation to the reserve area." <br /> Mr. Pesce stated, I could move the system over one more foot which would <br /> provide a 75' separation from the active to the edge of thewetlands." <br /> Mr. McQuaid uaid stated, I would recommend approval if the owner acyls a u.v. unit <br /> to the Bio--clere system and maintains ' from the wetlands." <br /> Mr. Ball motioned to amend the Board's vote of June 15, 1995 to include the <br /> attachment of a ultraviolet disinfectant unit to the Eeokin Bio-clere denitrification systema <br /> to be installed at 175 Surf Drive, Mr. Crain seconded, all, agreed. <br />
