Doherty stated, "The
letter only addresses some of the monitoring wells and the sparging process that they want
to conduct underneath the building or on the property it elf." "I really didn't see anything
regarding identifying the extent of the plume, the edges of the plume, the toe of the plume
and what kind of action they are going to take."
Mr. McQuaid stated, "I spoke to the people from D.E.P. this week and they
confirmed the fact that they agree to the location of Wither southward monitoring wells
beyond Quinaquisset Avenue." "They were in the field this Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday installing these wells." `'we won't receive the test results for two or tree
weeks however, they have indicated from AWARD'S modeling of the ground flow
direction it appears, and D.E.P. is confident with this, that the plume migration will follow
the groundwater direction and most likely discharge into Quaker Run which is well north
of the Bayridge subdivision and wM eventually discharge into the bay." `Plumes will die
until they reach a surface body of water then they will rise again." "If their hypothesis i
correct, that it will flow into Quaker Run, and in D.E.P.'s opinion is wiU not affect the
Bayridge subdivision.
Mr. Doherty questioned, "Does AWARD have any predictions on what affect that
will have once it starts discharging into the bay 37
