4 Selectman, Garland brought to Board' s attention. that the air -conditioner <br /> for office would cost $300-00 more than the $439. 99 approved by Finance <br /> Committee and also recommended that consideration be 'given- to <br /> purchasing the maintenance contract for $33, 15. <br /> Chairman stated that the bulk would cone out of Municipal Equipment/ <br /> Repair Account and the $66 . 15 out of Selectmen' s Expense* <br /> Selectman Garland- corrected. the above stating that 30 . 0 0 world 'come <br /> out of Municipal Equipment/Repair Account and $33. 15 out of <br /> Selectmen' s Expense. <br /> Chairman suggested that the full amount of $66 . 15 be taken out of <br /> Selectmen' s Expense. <br /> Motion made by SelectmanThomas, seconded by selectman Garland, that <br /> the full amount of $66 . 15 be taken out of Selectmen' s Expense. <br /> Declared a vote by chairman. <br /> 5 . Herring Warden, Jim Ames , met with Board informing therm that the <br /> 'Dara at Santult Pond is collapsing. Last complaint was July 23rd <br /> by Stephen A. Bache, counsellor- at Law, in behalf of the Bryants- <br /> Neck Association. For the sake of temporary repair, and having <br /> seen the area with lir. Courtemanche and Selectperson Thomas , we <br /> suggest that we get permission from the owner of the concrete <br /> structure that is there, a permanent structure,. to devert the river <br /> 100wfeet and use it temporary until somebody with an engineering <br /> background c n come in and dive ,us an evaluation. <br /> Chairman stated that the Board is aware of the condition, stated <br /> that the conversation that -took place on Tuesday, still applied. <br /> Informed Herring Warden that the commonwealth of Natural Resources <br /> would probably help with the engineering. -Warden stated that he <br /> had called thea. He also stressed the fact that if we have a hard <br /> rainfall, we would probably lose the pond. We have to do something <br /> now. chairman stated that if you -get the ok verbally, go ahead' <br /> and start but get it confirmed in writing too. <br /> 6 . Motion made by Selectman Garland, seconded by Selectman Thomas t <br /> - give a one-day permit on August 1, 1980 , to -Peter Lawrenc-e to. <br /> construct a teat at the New seabury Beach club, Declared a vote <br /> by Chairman. Charge for permit i s $51-00. <br /> No action was taken at this time on the letter from Kistin & Babits3 y, <br /> Attorneys at Law, representing Theresa A. Morehouse vs Town. <br /> 8. Motion made by Selectman Garland seconded by Selectman Thomas, to <br /> appoint James. Jackson son as a Special Police Officer.' Declared a vote <br /> by Chairman. <br /> 9. Motion rade by Selectman Garland, seconded by Selectman Thomas , to <br /> appoint David A. Franchi as waterways Policeman. Declared a vote F <br /> by Chairman. <br /> i3- <br /> 4 <br />
