W <br /> . Recreation Director met -with the Board to- further discuss the <br /> possibilityof putting up a flood.. light- -at the bog by -the 'Wigwam <br /> for skating and hockey. <br /> Brad informed Board that the bog is owned by the' Mass Fish and Game <br /> Division, and he has had a verbal O'k from the Director of the region <br /> to use the bog for slating. if the Town agrees to this , they will <br /> give us a written approval, we have to put up a pole and light. <br /> He stated that he has chosen to go with the public utility errecting <br /> the pole and light rather than the Town-, because if vandalism occurs <br /> the ' `own would have to pay for replacement. This way the public <br /> utility company would do it. <br /> Board' s con ce rn' was to the liability of the Town if an accident <br /> should occur. <br /> Town Counsel- informed 'the Board that the Town could be protect from <br /> adults by posting a sign saying. "Unsupervised - slate at own Risk, " <br /> however, the Town can not be protect- fromm liability -if a child i <br /> involved. we put a light up there,. we are inviting the public to <br /> use it. <br /> Selectman Garland asked- Brad- to contact Mr, Carroll of Paul Peters, <br /> Insurance Agency as to what affect. this would have on our insurance . <br /> Bract later returned and informed the. Board that the Town has <br /> Comprehensive Policy that covers skating-. Selectman Garland requested <br /> that the Insurance Agency put this in writting, <br /> 4b- Chairman informed Brad that the Board would take no action onhis <br /> request at 'this time. He asked him to contact the electric company <br /> and find out if there is anyway that we can control when the light <br /> is on and off. He requested that Brad .meet with the Hoard next <br /> week with this information. <br /> . Robert Houle and Michael Mal unas met with the Board in regards to <br /> the vacancy on the Board of Appeals because of the passing away of <br /> Mr. Peter Langler. A quorum of three is needed in order to hold <br /> a hearing. <br /> Mr. Houle suggested Mr. Raymond Sweeney who is presently serving a <br /> an alternate, Both gentlemen stated that they have spoken t <br /> different people but have not received any favorable response. <br /> Mr. Houle suggested the name of Jerry- Unima and also-, his wife. <br /> Other than the above, they had no- recommendations, Mr, Houle did <br /> asl ithe Board to consider appointing Mr. Sweeney to the position. <br /> Motion rade by selectman: Garland, seconded-. by Selectman Thomas , to <br /> appoint Raymond sweeney as a member of the Board of Appeals - to fill_ <br /> the unexpired terra of Peter Bangles which will expire on 6/30/81, <br /> Declared a vote by Chairman. <br /> _3- <br />
