i
BOARD OF SELECTMEN
TOWN OF MASHPEE
MEMO
TO: BOARD OF SELECTMEN
FROM: EXECUTIVE SECRETARY JOE MURPHY
DATE : JANUARY 28 , 1982
RE : HIGHWAY. PERSONNEL
Ourictract with the Highway Union .states that if a person
is working in a higher paid position for 3 or more days, he
should be paid at the higher rate, retroactively.
This is somnthing in the contract, something we handle ad-
ministratively.
However., in' Burley. Green':s case, there is nothing automatic.
He is serving in the capacity of the Superintendent of Streets,
but being paid as a working foreman.
I recommend that, until Mr- Jacobson returns to service,
Burley receive the same rate of pay as the Street-Superin-
tendent. However, his .overtime; such as he receives for
snow and iceremoval,—should be computed on, the- basis-of- his
pay as foreman.
11•
