x I ' I MEETING F HOARD F SELECTMEN August 24, 1983 PRESENT: Chairman Chester A. Garland, Selectmen Willard L. Hanson and Richard L. Terry. 'Town Counsel Joseph J. Reardon, Executive Secretary Joseph F. Murphy. GUESTS : Mr, Livingston, New England Telephone Representative; Mary Tanner, Loo Cohn, -Torn Abbott, Wendy Rubin, James Kogut, Jane Peterson, Anne T. Shaw, Chester Koblins y, Call Schleuter, H. Jean Thomas Paula Bolds , �Virginla Landry., Cur-tis Mrs . Kenneth W. Anderson, Shirley Peters ,- Janice Mills and Curtis Woodbury. : 00 p,m, - Chairman Garland convened the meeting. Motion by Selectman Hanson -and seconded by Selectman Terry to approve the minutes of the August 17, 1983 meeting. This is a vote. APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS p.m. - Chm, Garland opened the public hearing on the request from the New England Telephone Company to install one pole southerly of the rotary on Route 28. Chin. Garland asked if anyone was opposed. None. Motion by Sel, Hanson to approve the petition of New England Telephone Company. Seconded by Sel. Terry. Motion Carried. p.m. - Mr, James Kogut of the Cherrystone Restaurant was in to give the Board an update on the premises . Executive Secretary explained that the State has now approved the change of name from the New Farm to the Cherrystone and that the Building Inspector on June 8th had requested that the sign be removed, Sel, Hanson asked who was making the sign. Mr. Kogut replied that Mr. Richard Gallo was . el * Hanson asl ed where he was located. Mr. Kogut said that all he had was a phone number for him. Chrn. Garland asked when the kitchen would be opened. Mr. Kogut stated that he hoped it would be ready in two or three weeks . Sel. Terry asked what kind of food was being sola there now, Mr, Kogut replied that they were serving soup and sandwiches . Boardcompli- mented Mr. Kogut on - the appearance of the building. Executive. Secretary asked if the Board would sign the new licenses at this time. Motion by Sed.. Hanson to approve the' licenses - under the new name of the Cherrystone. Seconded by Sial, Terry. Motion Carried. L,,A: 15 P,m, - The South -Cape Beach State Park Advisory Cornmitte 's sub-committee carne to discuss with the Board Article 17 in the agreement of the Town with the State relative to a boat ramp on the to acres that the Commonwealth lth of Massachusetts is to give or lease for $1. 00 for 99 years to the Town. Chrn. Garland read the Article. Meir. Chester- Koblinsky would like more frontage and less depth given to the town. He also suggested that this land be used for other purposes . He has talked with a Mr. Palmer who i willing to donate an entire estate 's fund for the purpose of building a miniature woodhole on that site. The subcommittee realizes that this is for the future but this could be a thought
