S ti Page, 4 . Board reviewed the' letter- that had been sent -to the Conservation Commission from Mrs. Eleanor Harding regarding the 90 acres of land that she would like to soli to the Town. This property abutts the cranberry r bogs that were purchased by the Town. This land would dive the town shone frontage on Moody' s pond. She is asking. $200', 0 for the land. The Conservation Commission is in the process of applying for self-h1p rant. The problem is the time limit for applying.. .' The last date - to apply is August 31. They are in the process of getting two appraisals . Executive Secretary said that this required no action from the Board at this time. NEW BUSINESS chin: rel. nd__s .i _-th t...t e' Board has -been advised on the recommendations of the Parks and Recreation Director that the li equards at Attiquin Park have been removed for the remainder of this season. The reason being unnecessary harass- ment of the lifeguards . There was a report from the, head lifeguard and Wendy Rubin rade c mments . She is requesting that a committee. be formed to wort out the problems so that the activities can continue next year. The Committee is to be formed of persons who lige in the area or have children who- use the area, Board to take comments under advisement. Wendy stated that they do not get the assistance from the Police Department, Chief Frere stated that the torn cannot afford to have a - full-time police roan on duty there. The patrol do what they can. Town Counsel advised that the -Town advertise the fact that there are no lifeguards on duty there. Signs have also been put up. 1 . on the application for permit from the Wampanoag Rod & Gun Club for an all alcoholic beverage license from September 2 , 1983 through September , 1983, the Board asked that Mr . -Barrows be asked to attend next week's Selectmen' s meeting to answer a few questions before they deride on this matter. 2. Board 'reviewed the petition from the Ashumet Pond, wheeler Rd. , resident regarding a zoning violation. Lr. Lentll is running 'two separate business- es usine -es from his home. one is a jet ski operation and the other- is a cement form business . This is two seperate issues as the jet ski is not allowed but the cement form business could be run from his home if he applies to the Board of Appeals for a special permit. The Fire Chief is sending a cease and desist order for the ski jet business as it is against the law to. be storing gasoline for business . The Building Inspector also 'is no= ti-Bring Lr. Lentell that the ski jet business is not-'allowed_ to be ru�h from his hone as it is our by-laws ,. The Building Inspector refuses to stop them from running their cement form business from their home as there are at least twenty five businesses doing business from their hones with no special permits. Board decided to send a writing directive to the Building Inspector. Town Counsel recommended that a writing directive not be sent to the Building Inspector, he should be invited to the next meeting to discuss this matter. Lr, and Mrs . Kenneth W., Anderson, who lure next door to Lr. Lentell spoke on the traffic and noise situation.- Board to discuss the Ana-iter with 'the Building Inspector., 3. Chin. Garland explained the Fire chief's request to establish a Fire 2;rQtedti:on _ & Emergency Medical Service Laster Planning Committee. .Lotion by Bele. Hansom to approve the request. Seconded by . Sel... Terry. motion Carried. Board stated that Sel. Hanson would be the representative for the Board' of Selectmen on this Committee.
