Hanson, <br /> Selectman Richard Terry, Ex-ecutiv-e Secretary Joseph F. Murphy <br /> and Town Counsel Joseph J. Reardon. <br /> GUESTS: Mrs. B. Jean Thomas, Mr. Vernon Thomas, Mr. & Mrs Dick. Wasil <br /> Mr, & Mrs. Dan Palica. <br /> :OC p.m, — Chairman Garland convened the Selectmen' s meeting of <br /> October 1 , 1983. <br /> Motion was made by: Selectman Manson to approve the minutes: of <br /> October 5,. 1983 Regular Meeting. Seconded by Ch i-rman -Garland. All <br /> were in favor. <br /> Mr. Dick Wasil asked to address the- Board regarding the flea market-. Mr. <br /> Wasil explained that he is disappointed with the Town for asking—him to <br /> move the vendors behind the fence. He went on to say, tha-t- he has been in <br /> business for 10-12 years and does not see why he cannot have a few <br /> vendors outside the fence. He stated the zoning by-laws oa.11s for 40 <br /> feet from the roadway and the fence is 90 feet. Mr. Wasil feels his busInes <br /> is being hurt by this request to move his vendor-s, behind the fence. He <br /> also pointed out that the flea a-rket brings a lot of money into -the town.' . <br /> . <br /> ha.irman Garland explained to Mr. Wasil .that he .is. in violation of his permit <br /> according to a plan submitted to -the town showing a certain number. of <br /> spaces behind the fence. lie .also pointed out 'a severe traffic -hazard. <br /> Chairman Garland met with Mr. Ja il ' s attorney and the Street- Superintendent <br /> to point out the bo ndries of the road layout a'nd stated the setback is <br /> 100 feet from the edge of the road layout.. <br /> Chairman Garland advised Mr. Wasil that he is in violation of his permit <br /> and that a written proposal -should be submitted to the Board if changes <br /> in the permit wanted. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Motion was rade by Selectman Terry to appoint Mr. Kenneth Coombs, <br /> Ms. Shirley A. Bullock, Mr. Edgar Tobey and M . Maureen Tompkins to th.e <br /> Attiquin Park Task Force Committee. Selectman Manson seconded. All <br /> were in favor. <br /> . Motion was made by Selectman P ri or_ to appoint Mr. illiam Hanrahan <br /> as an associate member to the Board of Appeals. Seconded by Selectman <br /> Terry, Motion carried. <br />
