r BOARD of SELECTMEN N S WEDNESDAY AUGUST 8, 1984 PRESENT: Selectman Hanson, Selectman Terry, Selectman Th rna , Executive Secretary Joseph F. Murphy and Town Counsel Joseph J. Reardon. GUESTS: Arlene Hoxie, Monica McNally, Ewe Virgilio, Wendy Rubin and Lifeguards from Attaquin PArk Selectman Hanson convened- the meeting of August 8, 1984 at 7 p. . Selectman Terry rwved to accept the minutes of July 31, 1954 administrative meeting, August 1, 1984 regular meeting and July 1, 1984 executive sesaion. HEARINGS Aim APPOI NTMEN'IS 7;00 - Mr. French from Com Electric was in to seek permis .-ion to provide electric- service for the PUbl is Works Garage. Mr. French stated . that work should begin by next week. Selectman Terry roved to approve the petition of Com Electric to provide electric service to the Public Works Garage. Selectman Thomas seconded. l l' were in favor. 7:15 - Chief Frere was scheduled to discuss law enforcer-entt Attaquin Park,. Wendy notified the office that the law enforcement problem had been resolved. Wendy asked if the time could be used to di scu s- problems she was having with regards to people parking along property beside the State boat landing. Ms. Rubin feels it is very difficult to enforce town residents getting stickers when non-residents are parking illegally. Also Ms. Rubin feels the lifeguards are no loner effective as they have to deal with constant harassment. Selectman Hanson feels lifeguards should be pulled leaving the gate attendent and the police. Selectman Term and Thornas agreed. Selectman Hanson asked that ambers of the Attaquin Park TAsk Force be notified that it is the wishes"' of the Board to re-activate the conidttee. OLD BUSINESS 1. Selectmen 'ferry reminded the Board that two delegates are still needed for the Otis Task Force. NEW BUSINESS 1, Selectmen were in favor of the recomrendation made by the -Town Solid Waste committee to sign a non-binding letter with SENDS. Selectman Thomas feels there is a need for a solid waste committee working with Board of Health within the T6wn.
