A <br /> BOARD of SELECTMEN <br /> ry . <br /> WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22, 1984 . <br /> PRESENT: Selectmen Hansom, Thomas and Terry, Executive Secretary, Joseph <br /> F. hxrp y_, Town Counsel, Joseph J. Reardon and Lesley. <br /> GUESTS: Mr. Buckingham, Members of. the Manowscoy Improvement Trust, Arlene <br /> oxie, Monica M. ally, Delores Kong and Ernie Virgilio. <br /> Selectman Hanson -con ened .the meeting at 5:00 p.m. <br /> Selectman Terry roved to approve the minutes of August 15, 1984 regular <br /> meeting and August 1 , 198+ adrninistrative meeting. <br /> OLD BIJSINESS <br /> 1. Mr. Murphy pointed out the letter received from the Executive office <br /> f Connunities and Development regarding the grant submitted by Chief <br /> Oraywolf.. No action -is needed at this time* <br /> . Mr. Murphy explained to the Board that no one had - bmitted a bid for <br /> the drool i tion and removal of Old 'down Hal l. He al so pointed out -that the <br /> town had received informal proposals. <br /> Nor. Murphy wont to point out the options available to the town with regards <br /> to the Old Town Hall. <br /> Selectmen Hanson asked if funds were available in the Building Inspectors <br /> account to demolish buildings. <br /> Mr. Murphy stated that some money was available but he was not sure just <br /> how much. <br /> Mr, Iirphy pointed out that the next possible time to go out for bid would <br /> be October. <br /> Seelctmen Terry feels that all necessary steps should be taken to place an <br /> article on the Special 'town Meeting warrant to raise and appropriate funds <br /> to demolish the building unless a counter proposal is submitted in the mean <br /> time. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND FEARI N GS <br /> 11 - Joint meeting with ambers of the Monomoscoy Irnpro ement Trust and <br /> the Water Quality Advisor Comittee. <br /> Mr. Hoeyer feels something should be done about the water supply for the <br /> Island especially with the 54 unit housing going in. <br /> Mr. Buckingham, chairman of the dater Quality d i sort' Conni t tee explained <br /> the goals and objectives of the committee. He also pointed out that the <br /> committee is only responsible for locating an area to provide water not <br /> for delivering water, <br /> Mr. Buckingham explained the problem areas as well as pointing out the <br /> possible areas that could be used for the water supply. <br />
