Mr. Murphy explained that Mr. Richard Cook had requested a license <br /> to grow shellfish on rafts and the Board had forwarded this to the <br /> Shellfish Officer who in turn had referred this matter to, the <br /> Harbormaster as this- has to do with navigation and waterways . <br /> Board now has the conditions recommended by the -Harbormaster <br /> before them. Board. recommended that a public hearing be s .hedul.ed <br /> on this matter. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> 1. ) Board reviewed schedule for Special' Town Meeting to be held on <br /> July 2 , 1984 . Motion by Sel. Thomas to proceed with the suggested <br /> schedule. Seconded by Sel. Terry. This was -so ,votedF. <br /> 2. on the request of the Conservation Commission to allow Boys Scb.uts <br /> to camp on Conservation- land the Board approved . the request. , Mr. <br /> Murphy explained that from now on this would be the sole responsi- <br /> bility of the Conservation Commission when the request is to camp <br /> on conservation land and the sole responsibility of the recreation <br /> department for ether areas . He also -suggested that .the by-laws <br /> be modified as there is no camping-. allowed in- the Town of Mashpee <br /> t present. Board felt the by-law should be modified as their <br /> intent is to allow the youth camping priviledges, <br /> Mr. Murphy explained the sick bank for the highway department contract <br /> and suggested that he and Mr. Virgilio be appointed as management <br /> designee. Sel. Thomas asked if the Personnel Board, should handle this. <br /> Mr. Murphy replied that the Personnel Board only records vacations and <br /> such. Motion by Sel . Terry to appoint Mr. Joseph Murphy- and Mr. Ernest <br /> Virgilio as management designees for the h-i ghway department sick bank. <br /> Seconded by Sel. Thomas. This is a vote. <br /> Board discussed whether anything should be clone to encourage townspeople <br /> to attend the Town .Meeting next Tuesday. Board decided to proceed as is. <br /> Mr. Murphy reminded the Board that -appointments will have to be clone <br /> on -June 30, . 1984 and in order. to save time he requested that he be allowed <br /> to . send letters thanking each individual for serving on - committees . <br /> boards but also asking there if they wish to continue to serve. Board <br /> approved Mr. Murphy' s request to send letters . Sel. Thomas wants the <br /> Historic Commission included. <br /> Motion by Sel .
