OF <br /> r } <br /> a <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES <br /> WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY , 1985 <br /> PRESENT: Selectman Hanson, Selectman Thomas, Selectman Terry and Executive Secretary, <br /> Joseph F. Murphy <br /> GUESTS: Chief iia r t i n, Byron Eldridge, George Baker, Vernon Thomas, Judy Howell and <br /> Monica McNally <br /> Selectman Hanson convened the meeting at 7 p.m. <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to approve the minutes of January 23, executive session; <br /> January 30, regular meeting and January 30, executive session. Selectman Terry <br /> seconded. Al-1 were in favor. <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS _ <br /> Selectmen were scheduled to meet with Mr. Shaughnessy at 7 p.m. and Ernie Virgilio at <br /> 7: 15 p.m. both individuals asked to reschedule their appointments for next week. <br /> Chief Hartin was scheduled to meet with Selectmen to give thea the opportunity to <br /> meet with the four firefighters who had been promoted to Lieutenants a's well as <br /> give the Selectmen the opportunity to meet the newly appointed firefighter. The <br /> Chief explained that each of the four Lieutenants had been assigned a staff <br /> responsibility, Lt. Frailer, training officer; Lt-. Barer, EMS officer; Lt. Long, <br /> fire prevention officer, and Lt. Chuck Dottridge, fire supervision officer. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> . Selectmen moved on to the request of Mrs. Peters who asked the status of Bearses <br /> Road as she had signed an agreement on two lots abutting this road. She would <br /> li erkto know if this road could be used as access and frontage fors these lots. <br /> Mr. Murphy explained that he has asked the Director of R creation and Paas <br /> as well as the Director of Public Works for their comments on this, as soon <br /> as they respond all materials will be forwarded to town counsel for his <br /> review. <br /> Selectmen told Mrs. Peters they would try to have a response from counsel by <br /> next Wednesday. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. The Board had deferred the letter of resignation from B. Jean Thomas from the <br /> onservation Commission. Also in this letter was a request that she be appointed <br /> as an ex officio member of the Mmmission. <br /> Selectman Terry motioned to accept the letter of resignation from the Conservation <br /> ommIssion from B. Jean Thomas and also appoint her as an ex officio member-to <br /> the Commission. Selectman Hanson seconded. All were in favor-. <br /> Selectmen asked Mr. Murphy to post this vacancy. <br /> . Selectmen reviewed two requests to serve as the town' s representative of the <br /> Veteran' s Services District. <br /> L <br />
