r <br /> o, <br /> SP ' <br /> ECI <br /> AL ORDER <br /> 29 April 1985 <br /> SUBJECT: Establishment of Accident Investigation Board <br /> 1. Effective immediately a three member team will be utilized to assist <br /> initial accident investigators and assume responsibility for investigation <br /> of accidents in the following catagories: <br /> a. Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents <br /> b. Fatal Accidents (Industrial or Residential) <br /> c. Hit and Run Accidents ,involving personal injury <br /> d. Serious Injury Accidents (When death is likely) <br /> e. Accidents involving damage to Municipal property or <br /> injury to Town of Mashpee Employees <br /> 2. Watch Commanders upon receiving notice of an accident in one of the above <br /> listed catagories shall immediately notify the Accident Investigation Board <br /> Member on call who will respond immediately to the accident scene and assume <br /> charge of the investigation. <br /> 3. Accident Board Members called to investigate an accident shall consult <br /> with7 the Watch Commander and the initial investigating officer to coordinate <br /> - all efforts of the investigation. In addition the following will be accomplished <br /> by the Accident Board member: <br /> a. Coordinate all evidence collection <br /> b. Coordinate all reports and witness statements <br /> c. Direct photography with Barnstable County C.I.O. <br /> d. Respond to the scene with Accident Investigation Kit <br /> e. Report directly to the Chief or Deputy Chief of Police <br /> his preliminary findings as soon as possible. <br /> f. Prepare case prosecution of criminal charges <br /> g. Report any regulation violation in the case of Municipal <br /> property accidents to the Deputy or the Chief of Police <br /> 4. Individuals listed below will comprise the Accident Investigation Board for <br /> the calendar year 1985: <br /> 1. SGT William J. Ethier-O.I.C. <br /> 2. Cpl Douglas H. Flynn <br /> 3. Ptl John P.
