• IC}- <br /> `V <br /> ri <br /> SPECIAL ORDER <br /> to <br /> SUBJECT: Rotational Towing Procedure <br /> I. PURPOSE: <br /> This special order establishes the procedure of 'notification for firms <br /> providing towing services to the Mashpee Police Department. <br /> II. PROCEDURE: <br /> A. General: <br /> 1. All towing jobs will be assigned on a weekly rotational basis. <br /> The rotational period will be Monday 0700 hrs. to Monday 0700 hrs. <br /> a. AA Towing and Repair Service 477-1502 <br /> b. Mashpee Towing Company 477-2087 <br /> 2. If special equipment is required, the Watch Commander will assess <br /> the need and acquire the necessary resources to facilitate the Department's <br /> mission. <br /> 3. Nothing in this order precludes the two contractors from making mutual <br /> agreements. <br /> B. The Dispatcher/House Officer-will be responsible for: <br /> 1. Maintaining the towing log in the book provided <br /> 2. Assuring the rotational system is not circumvented, except in exigent <br /> circumstances and with the approval of the watch commander. (The reason for not <br /> following the rotational policy will. be noted on the Communications Card.) <br /> C. The Watch Commander Shall: <br /> 1. Assure that this policy is followed on their respective watches. <br /> 2. Report any failures of performance by the authorized towing firms to <br /> the Deputy Chief of Police or the Chief of Police. <br /> D. Department Vehicles: <br /> 1. This Special Order is not applicable to-,Mashpee Police Department <br /> vehicles. The watch commander shall designate any one of the above tow companies, <br /> taking into consideration the location of the disabled cruiser, the availability <br /> of the tow truck and the cost of the tow. <br /> 2. Each tow will be recorded in the tow log book. <br /> III. This order supercedes General order 500.07 and will take effect 0700 hrs. <br /> 12 April 1985. <br /> BY AUTHORITY OF: <br /> CURT FR <br /> Chief of Police <br />
