Old Business (continued) " 4. Selectman discussed the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new lighted basketball courts. Also discussed was the basketball game between the DPW and Recreation and Selectmen ' s office. It was agreed that Mr. Terry would play basketball and Mrs. Thomas would cut the ribbon. 5. The Board discussed the memo from Chief Frye and Deputy Chief Cooper relative to the salary of special police officer 's. Chief Frye requested an increase from $5.92 to $6.12 per hour. Selectman Thomas moved to approve the request of Chief Frye and Deputy Chief Cooper making the rate of pay for special police officer' s $6.12 per hour. Selectman Terry seconded. Motion carried. A memo of concurrence will be forwarded to the Personnel Board. New Business 1. Mr. William Peters, Jr. Manager of Deer Crossing Market Corporation requested a one day permit to have an outdoor wine tasting. Selectmen had no problem with granting this permit but asked that Mr. Peters obtain a police officer for this event. 2. Selectmen received a request from the Shellfish Constable to change three of the shellfish regulations. Mr. Murphy .pointed out it. would be necessary to hold a public hearing before any changes could be made. Selectmen authorized the scheduling of a public hearing at the convenience- of the shellfish constable. 3. Selectmen received a letter from frances Brown requesting the removal of a catamaran from the beach at Maushop Village which apparently has been abandoned. •Selectman Thomas asked that this be turned over to the Harbormaster for - his investigation. 4. Selectmen received general orders of the police departmentfor their review and approval. Selectman Thomas moved to approveGeneralOrder - Traffic Law Enforcement , use of Sobriety Checkpoints for O.U.I. Enforcement and Arrests Involving Driving While Intoxicated. As well as Special Order - House Officer, Assignment and Duties pending town counsel review. Selectman Terry seconded. Motion carried. Appointments and Hearings 7:30 - Selectmen met with the auditors and department heads to discuss the audit.
