h <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes Page <br /> Wednesday, May 7, 1986 <br /> New Business cont' d. <br /> 2 Selectman Thomas moved to reopen Great River, Little River, <br /> Hamblin t s Pond, Jehu' s Pond and Waquoit Bair for the harvesting <br /> of so ft shel i clams and quahogs, both recreationally and commercially, <br /> Selectman Hanson seconded and it was a vote. This would become <br /> effective May 12, 1986 , the date of advertising,, <br /> The Board reviewed a letter from the is hpee Wampanoag Indian <br /> Tribal Council, Inc . regarding a proposed bus shettle by them. Mr. <br /> Murphy said a public hearing is required on the application within <br /> 60 days . Selectman wanted input from South Cape Beach Committee and <br /> to also see first if there are any restrictions on the land for this <br /> type of use . <br /> The Board reviewed petitions from Cotuit Corners residents <br /> requesting water testing of their wells. Selectman Thomas said she <br /> met with DEQE on Friday and the Counter said they have the ability <br /> to do random sampling and will be doing so and also further down <br /> Mashpee Neck Road, but they can' t do doer to door sampling. Selectman <br /> Hanson added they need certain equipment to do it and they are attempt- <br /> ing to get this additional equipment and they are also understaffed <br /> but they are looking at the Cotuit Corners situation. <br /> The Board reviewed a letter from Judy Kuusela regarding the <br /> Waquo i t Bair National Estuarine Sanctuary, No ae do n ' was needed.. <br /> The Board reviewed a letter from the Magor of Springfield regarding <br /> their 350th birthday celebration. No action was taken. <br /> The Board reviewed a letter from the State Department of Public <br /> Works regarding Access to State-owned Lana Program, No action was <br /> taken. <br /> The Selectmen reviewed the letter prepared to Falmouth Later <br /> commissioners to be signed by them as Water Commissioners of Ma hp e <br /> requesting the Falmouth DPS' authorize the extension of Falmouth water <br /> into iashpee t s Otis Trailer village and Briarwood sections , Selectman <br /> Thomas moved to send the letter forward. Selectman Hanson seconded <br /> and it was a vote . <br /> Selectman Hanson informed. the Board and public that he received a call <br /> from Rosemary Burlingame -of High Wood Water Company who said the <br /> completion date for providing water to the police/fire complex would be <br /> after labor day and in early fall of 1986 . <br /> Having no further business before thea, the meeting adjourned at 7: 20 p .m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Sandra L.
