page -3
. Subject: ? of the Personnel Board's rights.
Mr. Clendenin questioned if the Personnel Board had the right to go to
• each Department to observe the work for each position involved in the
new classification. This would enable the Board to be of more accurate
rating each position and proper evaluation for salaries.
is
The Selectmen agreed this will be a sufficient way of doing this and then
set up a master sheet stating each employees' rate and then send it tm the
Finance Committee before the Department Heads send their report in for
raises. If the Fianance Committee then cuts the budget on the figures sent
in by the Personnel Board the Selectmen stated, that the Personnel Board
should then stand up at the Town meeting to specify they had no right to
do so as this is the Personnel Board's business.
. Subject: Grace Houston's classification was authorized verbally by the Board
of Selectmen in order to enable her to be justified for a reasonable raise
This was also applied to Marilyn Hendrick's case.
When the up-grade is on a master sheet the Personnel Board is to present
the need of the amount neede fro such to the Fianance Committee.
Above minutes taped and taken from tape by Mr. John Malone and Del McKenna
•
