e <br /> MDMTES of THE MASPEE PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> August 18, 1980 <br /> Board members present: James Rich, Charman, Caroline Gilligan, John Peters, Jr., <br /> and Robert Sullivan. <br /> Chairman Rich opened this meeting at 7:30 p.m, <br /> The first order of business was to interview Dorothy Studley for the position <br /> of Secretary/Dispatcher for the Police Department. <br /> At 8:30 p,m« Patrolman Frederick Peters, Sr. met with the Board to discuss <br /> his sick leave and the taking of vacation leave as to keep him from loosing <br /> pay while recuperating from . n operation. Sgt. Maurice Cooper of the, P lice <br /> Association came to this Board of July 7, 1980 to ask that the Chief of Police, <br /> Association, and the Personnel Board agree to give Patrolman Peters his vacation <br /> time in advance and to permit him to use it where he had exhausted. All were <br /> in agreement and voted sow Patrolmen 'eters said that the problem was that he <br /> didn't know about it and didn't want to use his vacation time* Patrolman Peters, <br /> stated that lira George Benway, Selectmen,, told him not to worry that the "down <br /> would take care of him. It was decided that the Personnel Board would attend <br /> the Selectmen's Meeting on Wednesday, August 20, 1980, to clear up some of this <br /> misunderstanding, <br /> Mr. Rich directed that a letter be sent to Sgt Cooper exp airui ng what the problem <br /> was and if he could be of any help or offer any further information to please <br /> contact this office, <br /> Compensatory t=e to be added to vacation for .Barad Norman, Recreation Director, <br /> was approved by the Board. <br /> letter will be sent to the Board of Selectmen informing them as to the present <br /> status of the Police and Clerical Negotiations. <br /> It was decided.to advertise the position of Secretary/Dispatcher 5or the Police <br /> Department, Mrs. Studley was not a suitable candidate because of hours not being <br /> flexible in the job,, <br /> Expense vouchers were signed for telephone and medical exams. <br /> SeMiority of the newly appointed Patrolmen was posted as recommended. <br /> This meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. <br /> Next meeting is scheduled for August 25, 1980 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted) <br /> Yen rnmn ale <br /> Secretary to the Personnel Board <br /> C: ward of Selectmen <br />
