MINUTES of THE MASHPEE PERSONNEL BSI <br /> August 25, 1980 <br /> B and members present were: James Rich, Chaixmn, and Caroline Gilligan. <br /> Also present at this meeting was Attorney John Meld. <br /> This meeting was delayed because we did not have a quorum,. Mr. weld put <br /> through a telephone call to Town Council, Joseph Reardon, and we were informed <br /> that we may conduct our scheduled meetings. H wever, there could he no formal <br /> votes of decisions made until we tet with a- quorum. <br /> Chairman Rich called this meeting to order at 7:1p.m. <br /> Negotiations were conducted with the Clerical unit. Present for the negotiations <br /> were: Martin Joyce, Union Agent, Marcia Duchame, Marilyn Hendricks, and Grace <br /> Maddox, <br /> The Board of Health met with the Personnel Board at 9:00 p.m. Present at this <br /> meeting was Mrs. Thomas and Mr. Garland of the Board of Selectmen, Mrs. Blakeman, <br /> of the Finance Committee and Mr. Lawrence, Mr. Wilson, and Mr. Buckingham of the <br /> Board of Health. <br /> The main purpose of this meeting is to have a unified backing for the funding <br /> of the salary for afull-time Hedth A dent o Much discussion went on about the <br /> salary and the Personnel Administration Plan. The Board of Health by statute <br /> may hire and set the salary of theme employees. <br /> Mrs. Blakeman of the financeCommittee stated that she felt thei*nanee Committee <br /> ,could recormend the H6alth Agent position ford funding it on a. full-time basis. <br /> All were "n agreement that the Town was In need of a full-tire position and <br /> that all involved felt they could re ommend-- i t. <br /> A solution to the position and the . *P. will he clarified. It is felt that <br /> the Health Agent could he treated ds re'.the management positions wherry they <br /> fall under the la.n for benefits but not of salary. This would enable the <br /> Board of Health tb set the salary of Health Agent. <br /> Mr. Rich stated that he would discuss this at the next meeting with a. quorum <br /> present. There will be a vote and we would then sena,a letter confirming <br /> what was discussed here tonight. <br /> This meeting was adjourned at 9:45 p.m. <br /> Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 28, 1980 at 4:00 p.m. for <br /> the purpose of further negotiations.with the Police Association. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> an Aran Hale <br /> 5 <br /> Secretary to the Personnel Board <br /> cc: Board of Selectmen <br />
