MINUTES of THE MA HPEE PERSONNEL BOARD MEETING <br /> MA HPEE TON HALL <br /> SEPTEMBER 21, 1981 <br /> r <br /> - f <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, September 21, 1981. This <br /> meeting was held for the purpose of negotiating the Fire Contract. Mr. Christopher <br /> Kent was assigned as mediator by the Joint Labor Management ent Association. <br /> Personnel Board members present: James Rich, Chairman, Caroline Gilligan, John <br /> Peters, Jr. and Robert Sullivan. Also present was Selectman --F Chairman, Chester A. <br /> Garland. <br /> `ire Bargaining Unit present: Richard Martin., David Dottrid e, Mark Lopez as well <br /> as a representative from New Bedford, Paul Le take. <br /> General Business <br /> The Personnel Board received a. memo from the Executive Secretary informing us of the <br /> Special Town Meeting scheduled for November 9, 1981. Articles to be submitted have <br /> a deadline of Friday, October 21, 1981. <br /> The Personnel Board will submit two 2 articles: one for the Funding of the Fir <br /> Contract and one for the Highway Contract. � <br /> The Board received a copy of a letter of resignation regarding Barbara Russell's <br /> re;si `cation from the South Cape Advisory o�.ttee and resignation from the Govern- <br /> ment <br /> ment +Study Cottee. A letter was received from R. G. Sweeney, chairman of the <br /> Government Study Cottee, informing the Personnel Board of the resignation of their <br /> Secretary, Barbara Russell. Mr. Sweeney requests that the Personnel Board recommend <br /> to the Board of Selectmen that Karen Dale be appointed as the new BoardSecretary, <br /> The Personnel Board voted unanimously to recommend Karen Dale to the position. A <br /> letter will be sent to the Board of Selectmen for appointment. <br /> Received a letter of information from Mrs. Robertson, Chairman of the Library Trustees, <br /> stating that clue to sick leave of Mrs. Selander, IAbrarian, the Trustees have asked <br /> Florence Lucas to work to help out. <br /> Received a letter from the Board of Selectmen requesting that we examine the salary <br /> levels of our Department Heads and Managers. <br /> Bob Sullivan suggested that we ask cape cod Comunity to do the survey as a class <br /> project. Mr. Sullivan is going to contact the college and seek information for us. <br /> The Board reviewed applications from firefighters and will be scheduling .interviews <br /> for Wednesday, September 30th, commencing at 4 o'clock. <br /> Letters will be sent to these not considered for an interview. <br /> The Town has agreed to a memorandum of understanding with the Firefighter Bargaining <br /> Unit.
