PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MA HPEB TOWN HALL <br /> MEETING OF DECEMBER 12 ,, 1983 <br /> The following members of the Personnel. Board were present for tonight ' s <br /> meeting: Chairman Robert Sullivan ,, Caroline Gilligan, David Hardy and <br /> Carrie Saunders . Manny Glickman sent a postcard and stating that he could <br /> not make tonight's meeting and the meeting of December 1. . <br /> Chairman Sullivan convened the me ting at p.m . <br /> Evaluation Form <br /> The Personnel. Board reviewed comments from De.partmen.t Heads with reference <br /> to the two evaluation forms which they were asked to give their input. on . <br /> Most the the department heads chase the more technical form asking -that <br /> specific information n from the other evaluation form be included. <br /> The Board thoroughly reviewed both forms and were in agreement that the <br /> following information be included on the final evaluation form : accuracy , <br /> alertness , attendance , personal appearance , courtesy, quality of work , <br /> quantity of work ,, job knowledge , related' work kn w, edge , judgment , initia- <br /> tive , <br /> nitla-tive , resource utilization , dependability , communicative ability , inter- <br /> personal skills , ability to Work under- pressure , creativity, security , <br /> sensitivity-, safety consciousness , profit and cost sensitivity , planning <br /> effectiveness , leadership , delegating , developing people , EEO and overall. <br /> appraisal , <br /> 4khe secretary was asked to utline how the performance scores could be at- <br /> tained. Also , the Board felt that it should be noted that step increases <br /> were subject to supervisor recommend tions and Personnel. Board approval <br /> and a 2 .5 rating must be attained for consideration of step increase. <br /> Elected Official Comparison <br /> The Board briefly discussed the elected official comparisons and agreed t <br /> review it more in depth at their next meeting . The secretary mentioned <br /> that she had contacted ted Mark Morse of the Executive - Office of Communications . <br /> He indicated that he had salary coy par-is n information at one time but it <br /> had not been updated. He suggested contacting Ma . Municipal for what in- <br /> formation they may have . k In following up Mr .- Morse 's suggestion , the person <br /> at Ma . Municipal was on vac.ati n and a message was left . <br /> Request to 'Increase Position Hours <br /> A request 'from the Board of Health with reference to. changing the position <br /> of the clerk in that office from part time to full time was read into the <br /> minutes . The Personnel Board . felt that proper steps would be for the Board <br /> of Health to submit an article to town meeting asking for the increase of <br /> the position to full time with an article asking for appropriation of monies . <br /> Memo re : Building and Grounds <br /> Ernie Virgilio advises all departments that building and grounds accounts <br /> are almost totally depleted . He indicates that he will still oversee a► <br /> r ject ; however , payment will not come from his department . He asks that <br /> ll requests be made in writing as to the spec-.fis nature of the request <br /> and payment . <br />
