r f PERSONNEL BOARD MINUTES MEETING OF NOVEMBER BE , 1983 f I A HPEE TOWN HALL The following members of the Personnel Board were present : Robert Sullivan, chairman, Caroline Gilligan , Manuel Glickman and Carrie Saunders , Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at p.m. Finalization of Job Description - Asst . Bldg. Insp. The Board again reviewed two job descriptions -- one from the Town of Falmouth and one from the Town of Barnstable -- for an assistant building inspector so that one may be finalized as the Board o Selectmen will be interviewing the finalists at their meeting tomor- row. Manny motioned to accept the one from Falmouth as it is more de- tailed. Bob ,seconded the motion. All were in favor . Clarification on tartl.nq Bate - Umina The Personnel Board was asked to clarify the starting date for Patrol- man [ mina as he is requesting vacation time at the end of the month . Personnel records show that Mr . Umina commenced full-time employment en with the town as of June ; therefo-re , the six-month probationary period would end on December 3 . Mr , Umina is using the appointment date of May 11 as the date employment commenced. Board members were in agreement that the six month probationary period would end on December 3 for vacation benefits . Board Secretary Request In a memo dated November 31 Wendy Rubin requests a Board Secretary for the Attaquin Park Task Force and the Parks and ecr'eatl.on Advisory Committee meetings . She advises the Personnel Board that Any Mosley has been serving in this capacity without the proper pay scale being utilized. The secretary was asked to find out if the committees are newly formed Boards and' when they meet . Firefighter Interviews The following candidates were 'Interviewed by the Personnel Board alone with Chief Hartin ,and Paramedic Paul Frazier : Byron Eldridge , George Baker , Alf Ryl nder , Tim Jacques and William McIntosh . Another candid- ate , Bruce Ricketson did not show up for the interview. Ripon conclusion of the interviews , the Board and chief Har in were in agreement that George Baker• # Byron. Eldridge and Alf l ylander be considered as finalist for the position . Chief Hartin said that he would follow through on the professional reference. checks and asked the Board to follow up on charac- ter references , Evaluation Form Bob asked Carrie to work on a standard evaluation form to be used by the Board for evaluating ' employees for their step increases . Elected Officials Bob asked Manny. to work with the secretary on the comparison of elected officials . Manny suggested that at memo be sent to the elected officials asking them for their- specific on-going job responsibilities .
