Personnel Board <br /> Minutes of May,1 ., 1983 Page- <br /> Secretarial Pool <br /> The secretary was asked to advertise -indefinitely for secretarial help to be included <br /> in the secretarial pool. <br /> Appointment ent of Fuld.-Time Police Officer <br /> In a memo from the Board of Selectmen' the Personnel Board was advised that Gerald <br /> Umina was appointed as full 'time police officer pending psychological testing,, The <br /> secretary will follow through in setting up the appointment for the psychological test- <br /> ting as well as for the physical examination. A request was made from theSelectmen's <br /> i office to meet With the Personnel Board to discuss the candidate selection process. <br /> The secretary was asked to bring the Selectmen in to meet with the Board on May 230 <br /> Town Physician <br /> The Selectmen have requested to meet with the Personnel Board regarding appointment o <br /> a new town physician. Discus ion, of this subject will be set up for the meeting of <br /> May 23. The Personnel Boar reviewed a. memo from the Board of Health dated May 13 asking <br /> that recommendations' for a town physician be made. Manny asked that the Board of Health- • <br /> be advised of the meeting with the Board of- Selectmen. <br /> Pay Scales of SE2SLalointments . <br /> A request for a. member of the Personnel. Board and/or their secretary to meet with the <br /> Executive secretary and Town Accountant to discuss pay scales for special appointments <br /> was reviewed. Curtis Woodbury said that he would attend the meeting and asked the secre- <br /> tary to be present also. <br /> P.A.P. Draft <br /> Dave Hardy asked what the status of -the draft-was on the P.A,,P which was given to Attorney <br /> Gilman for retyping. The secretary said that as far as she knew it had not been completed <br /> and that she would check with the Executive Secretary. <br /> Evaluation Form <br /> Dave brought in an evaluation form- for review which his company uses. The secretary will <br /> make copies for all members, <br /> Grievance Procedures <br /> In response to a memo of the Personnel Board regarding being by-passed when employees who <br /> fall under the P.A.P. take their grievance problems directly to the Board of Selectmen, <br /> clar f3ication was given from the Board of Selectmen on the most recent smatter of Gerald <br /> n ina. <br /> uxiliar r 'ir'efighter. Apo tment <br /> The Personnel reviewed a legal opi on from Atty., Reardon with reference to the town-t s <br /> liability of appointment of a minor.;- specifically, John W. Malone,, In town counsel.#s <br /> opinion the town would have liability in the event that,John was injured due to the <br /> negligence of the Town or any of its employees. The secretary was asked to send a memo <br /> to the Board of Selectmen ,asking then if they reviewed the legal reply and to let- the <br /> Personnel hoard have their comments on appointment of a=i Bary firefighter. <br /> .21oyment Application <br /> Recommendations for revising the phrasing and order of the contents of the towns applica- <br /> tibns foram were viewed by the Board-.
