Personnel Board Minutes April. 41, 1983 Page 2 aecial Police/Radio Dispatcher Applicants Applications for the special police officer/radio dispatcher positions were reviewed and twelve finalists were chosen to. be i terviewed for the three openings. interview will be scheduled for next Monday's s meeting,- April 11, starting at :l p.r . General Discussion Curtis Woodbury suggested that when interviewing candidates, Board members use a corrmon grading- system. Manuel Glickman commented that he felt using . format was a good idea.. The Board reviewed a few forms which were on file -orae of which will be used at future meetings at each of the members- discretion. Curtis-Woodbury also suggested that members take notes at interviews and then Vote .on a finalist at their next meeting rather than make snap decisions. Dave said that -he would rather use ' gut feel3g_11. Bob commend that he felt that the interviewing process is a judgement call and that by wasting a. week would be the wrong way to go. as members might lose their concept, Curtis asked the Board members to give •some thought on submitting an article for a town by-law which would tighten the, fifteen mile 110 mit state. law requiring public safety employees to lure within that distance. Board members agreed to give thy.s some more'. thought and to discuss it further at a future meeting. Review of- Wording for P.Xi-P. Board mer bers reviewed a draft to update the .P.A.P. relating to grade and step classi- fication which outlines how. an er ployee-. wild be. evaluated and how they will be eligible for future step advancement, Inter . t � !
