PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> MINUTES of JANUARY 1, 1983 <br /> The following meribers of the Personnel, Board were present for tonight's meeting <br /> Robert Sullivan, Chairperson., Caroline Gilligan, David Harder and Manuel. Glickman. <br /> Chairperson Sullivan convened the meeting at p.m. <br /> Acce tante of Personnel Board Minutes <br /> Caroline Gillmoved to accept the 'Pe. rmel. minutes of January 10, <br /> 1983. Manuel <br /> Glickman seconded the motion. All present were in favor. a <br /> Re est to Create New Positions Under P.A oP. <br /> The Personnel.. Board reviewed a memo from the Board. o.f Elections and Registrations <br /> advising them that they plan to submit an article to create an Administrative Clerk's <br /> ps ition. A copy of the job d s ori'ption was reviewed by the Board,,' The members of <br /> the Board agreed that the e was a need for the Elections and Registrations Board to <br /> have an Administrative Clerk; however, chose not to recommend a rate of pay until <br /> they have completed their review of upgrading all- the positions under the P.A,P. <br /> A memo from the Street Superintendent which .included a job description for a part- <br /> time student horticulturist was also reviewed by the Board* As to what specific <br /> areas the town should be-ccrpcne with.'Was questionned by members of the Board. Until <br /> this information is received, Manuel. Glickman moved that the Street Superintendent t s <br /> request for a student horticulturist be tabled. _Dave Hardy seconded the motion. Il <br /> present were in agreement. <br /> Discussion was also made on an article being submitted for the annual town meeting <br /> for a temporary skilled secretary. Board members felt that the word "skilled" should <br /> be eliminated from the job d seription and that the .rate of pair should be comparable <br /> to that of a. Board Secretary. 'hey .were in title should e s <br /> agreement that the . - <br /> muted. <br /> Board Secretary_Hire <br /> Susan Buehler, an applicant' for the position. Board Secretary the Ad I c'.Bu ld� <br /> ing Committee, was given a typing test by the secretary which the Personnel Board ` <br /> reviewed at their meeting. along with her application. . .The Board requested that -refer- <br /> ence s be checked out anal- voted, to recommend her upon a favorable reply a <br /> Completion of Salary date <br /> The Board completed its review of the upgrading of positions under the Personnel Adm <br /> ministration Plan. The final- analysis was .tha.t most of the positions needed to be <br /> upgraded. <br /> The job descriptions forall the positions under the P.A.P. (which were updated b <br /> Board menmber, Curtis Woodbury) were reviewed and slight changes were made on some of <br /> them. Thank you Curtis for al.l your hard work! ) <br /> Meeting With_Selectman Hanson <br /> Selectman Hanson appeared before the Personnel. Board to discuss the pending Fire Chief <br /> w <br /> situation. He mentioned that he had a meeting with the firefighters inorder to get <br /> some input from them of what -the problems are. S o ►e- 6f the recommendations from the <br /> firefighters were not to hire somebody coming out of the Boston area and upgrading the <br /> salary. There was also mention of overtime and lack of personnel. <br />
