PERSONNEL BOARD MINTURES of SEPTEMBER 1 7, 1984 MASHPEE TOWN HALL The following members of the Personnel Board were present for tonight's meeting: Chairman Robert Sullivan, Caroline' illigan, Carrie Saunders and Ben Lofchie. Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at 6:05 p.m Interviews for Nicht-Time Dispatcher - Police Dept. The Personnel Board, alone with the assistance of Chief Frye, Chief Hartin and Patrol- woman, Doris Hendrick, interviewed' the following applicants for the full-time position of dispatcher at the Police Department: Glen Rogers, Judith Bingle, Thomas Joyce, - Joseph Curtis, Robert Horgan, Beverly Corley, Jerry Wellman and David Correa. The Board noted to radio test the following: Glen Rogers, Judith Bingle, Beverly Corley, Jerry Wellman and David Correa. Typing tests were given to all the applicants prior to the interviewing process. Mr. Wellman and Mr. Correa will be given consideration for the part-tire position. Request For Leave Status Change In following up the discussion for request for leave status change from Marlene Antonson, which was tabled from the Board I s last meeting, the secretary #reported that she contacted Barbara Horton to see if bhe had recalled a conversation between Marlene Antonson and her- self in which Marlene stated that she had, asked for personal. mime. 'k Mrs. Horton stated that she did not recall the conversation, but that it did not mean it could not have happened. The Board felt that since vacation was requested in writing and the facts afterwards are not clear that the request for leave stAtus change should b denied.' O.Education Requests - Fire Dept. The Board approved courses for Robert Long and Sheldon- Hamblin to 'be taken at the Cape Cod Community College during' the fall semester.k The course is entitled "Fire Company officer- ship" and costs $144 plus text. ij request for course approval from Alf Rylander~ to take a Construction and Blueprint Read- ing for firefighters during the Fall semester ,was denied by the Board due to the fact that he is still a probationary employee. Joint Meeting W Bd. of selectmen _ The Board of Selectmen requested joint meeting for September 24 at 6:15 p.m. with the Personnel Board in follow-up to the Board's concern as to whether they should be involved in the position chances whichk;.are to take place in the Building Inspections Department.
